Uganda is referred to as "The Pearl of Africa". The landlocked country boasts shimmering lakes and lofty mountains, mysterious forests and game parks teeming with birds and increasing concentrations of all kinds of wildlife as Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the outstanding treasures of Uganda in the western area of the Great Rift Valley. The famous Kigezi tree-climbing lion is found here. Game drives and a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel are a memorable method of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife.
Then there is the Murchison Falls National Park, the largest game park in Uganda and home to the awe-inspiring Murchison Falls, where the River Nile hurls itself in appalling convulsions through a narrow crevice and then plunges 130 feet in one breathtaking leap. The park, with its variety of vegetation ranging from riparian forests and swamp lands to broad savannah, provides the opportunity of seeing some of the greatest concentrations of game in - The Pearl of Africa. |
